Acid Stain Floor Maintenance

Applying the stain with a pump sprayer after about 4 hours we used a solution of 1 cup of baking soda and 4 gallons of water to deactivate the stain.

I started by scraping any dried drywall mud and paint off the floor. Then in a bucket i mixed some soap and water and mopped the entire floor. And don t forget to ventilate the room to avoid breathing in the highly toxic fumes. Do not use harsh household cleansers on the floor.

The residue is very acidic. When acid staining concrete it s extremely important to clean the concrete very well before doing anything else. Acid stained floors are easy to clean and rarely need more than a mop and water.
